Leslie Saulsbury - Owner, Founder, Music Therapist
Meet the Owner.jpeg

Leslie is a board-certified music therapist and Montana native from the small town of Colstrip. She graduated cum laude with her bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from the University of North Dakota where she received honors for outstanding achievement in music therapy. She completed her clinicals in Iowa City with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where she gained experience in working with children of all ages in the PICU, NICU, and pediatric general inpatient. Leslie returned to North Dakota and led the foundation of the state's first medical music therapy program in Grand Forks where she worked primarily with adults in medical crisis and individuals at the end of their life. It was there that she became passionate about music in connection with our emotions and the neural pathways that prime those interactions. She went on to study music therapy through a neuroscience lens at Colorado State University where she received three national awards through the American Music Therapy Association including the Florence Tyson Grant to Study Music Psychotherapy. She graduated with her Master's in music therapy from CSU in 2019. Leslie moved back to Montana to start Western Meadowlark Therapies in 2020.

Founder’s Notes

My name is Leslie. I founded Western Meadowlark Therapies to bring a new option for wellness to my community right here in Montana. Music has been therapy for me in my own life way back from the time my 11 year old hands excitedly gripped my first purple electric guitar. I began planning for WMT about two weeks before the pandemic broke loose in our country. Several twists and turns, and almost one year later, I am beyond excited to open it's doors to all of you. I hope these services and resources can fill each and every one of you with comfort and peace, but most importantly, I hope you never lose hope. I hope you never forget about the power of music and the power of human connection. If I can walk alongside any person in their own journey on that path, I will be grateful. Let your song begin!

We’d love to hear from you!
